Koorliny Arts Centre Kwinana's production of "Guys and Dolls," where they sought the assistance from Neon Party for a dazzling LED neon sign ran from May 2-10, 2025, received overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and audiences. The celebrated musical, based on Damon Runyon's short stories, was praised for its cast, efficient staging, live band, and period costumes. Reviewers described the show as "delightful," "awesome," and "phenomenal," noting that despite being a period piece, it felt "fresh," "vintage," and "retro" with "eternal" underlying stories. A notable feature of this production was an inclusive "relaxed performance" on May 7. This special showing included adjusted lighting and sound, an AUSLAN interpreter, and a tactile meet-and-greet specifically designed for visually impaired patrons.

The Challenge

For their production of "Guys and Dolls," Koorliny Arts Centre in Kwinana sought a distinctive element. They decided an LED neon sign of the show's title would provide the perfect theatrical flair. In March, Koorliny Arts Centre contacted Neon Party to commission a custom LED neon sign.
This sign was intended to be a significant set piece as it would be powered by a light bar and hung above the stage. It needed to incorporate the colours scheme of the musical which included white, red, orange, and lemon yellow and blend into the black stage background. 

The Solution

The resulting LED neon sign, featuring the words "Guys and Dolls" with white outlined dice, served as the backdrop for the musical scenery. It incorporated Red, Lemon Yellow, Bright White, and Orange LED neon.

The Results

The custom LED neon sign for the "Guys and Dolls" production was a significant visual asset, consistently highlighted for its impact by both audience members and the Koorliny Arts Centre. Audience members frequently praised its "fantastic appearance," describing it as a "standout feature on the set," a "great feature item," and stating it "looked incredible."
