Fuchs Hair is a Sydney based hair salon that focuses on sustainable beauty and simplicity by balancing warmth and luxury. The well-established salon has worked to create an inviting and relaxing space, putting an emphasis on their support of the LGBT+ community.
The Challenge
Fuchs Hair has been servicing clients in Sydney since 2018, and in that time they have created an interior space that uses natural materials and light to bring a sense of comfort and warmth to the salon. They reached out to us to help make people aware that their salon is a judgement free zone, and is instead filled with support and kind energy. The challenge for us was to design an LED neon sign to be displayed in the front window that would complement the existing decor within the space.
The Solution
After Fuchs Hair explained their vision to us, we began discussing the different options that would work best to enhance the existing atmosphere of the salon whilst also conveying a message to the public. We provided multiple mockups to meet the needs of Fuchs Hair. After reviewing their options, they were ready for us to start bringing their vision to life.
The Results
Once we received confirmation on the final mockup, we began production on their neon sign. We knew that Fuchs Hair wanted this sign to serve as a visual representation of the support and inclusivity that they value so much, so we made sure to keep that in mind throughout the process. The final result was a colourful 100cm x 52cm rainbow LED neon sign that perfectly balanced vibrancy with warmth.

The Customisations
Each detail of Fuchs Hair’s simple rainbow sign played a part in bringing their vision to life and conveying the message they wanted. Here are some of the features that made this sign so special:
Colours: The mix of deep pink, ice blue, lemon yellow and deep blue resembled the vibrant, recognisable colours that they wanted to display.
Shape: The simple curved lines were the perfect choice as they allow for each colour to stand out without overpowering any existing decor within the salon. The rainbow was mounted on a clear cut around acrylic backboard which added to the simplicity of the design while also ensuring durability.
Installation: The sign was suspended in the window of the salon using our chain hanging installation kit, which made it easy to install and aesthetically pleasing.
